Herty Turpentine Clay Pots

$30.00

Dimensions: 7”h x 6”w

Antique clay pots originally used for collecting turpentine from long pine trees in the Southeast. These pots do not have a drilled hole in the base but you could add one.

After seeing our native pine forests get flatten to harvest both the wood and turpentine, UGA professor Herty is credited with inventing these pots that would be lined with metal and hung on pine trees to slowly collect turpentine.

There are 7 total pots in equal condition and the individual pot(s) will be chosen at random as they sell.

About vintage & antique goods

We do our best to source things in as close to pristine condition as possible, though some items may show more signs of age or wear than others. We lightly edit our photos for brightness and clarity so that the colors are as true as in person, but some screens may show color differently. If there is noticeable wear or damage, we make sure to alway represent that in photos and will mention it in the product description.

Please take a close look at the photos before purchasing and if you have any questions, contact us directly at hello@shopcopperseal.com
